FUTUREDOCS ABROAD CAREER EXPLORATION WEBINAR

WHAT IT’S REALLY LIKE TO BE A DOCTOR

A BEHIND-THE-SCENES SUMMER EXPERIENCE ABROAD

Many students say they want to become doctors.

But very few get the chance to actually see what the profession looks like up close until years into medical school.

This short presentation provides a behind-the-scenes look at the environments, experiences, and learning opportunities students encounter through the FutureDocs Abroad program.

Watch the presentation below to see what students experience inside real hospitals, anatomy labs, and clinical environments abroad.

INSIDE THIS WEBINAR, YOU'LL DISCOVER…

  • What it’s really like inside hospital operating rooms and clinical departments
  • How students observe live surgeries with surgeons explaining procedures step-by-step
  • What happens inside anatomy labs and how students study the human body
  • Why gaining clinical exposure early helps students stand out on pre-med pathways
  • What a typical day looks like for FutureDocs Abroad students abroad

For many students, this is the first opportunity to truly understand what a career in medicine looks like beyond textbooks and classroom learning.

ABOUT FUTUREDOCS ABROAD

FutureDocs Abroad is an international summer honors program for high school and undergraduate students who aspire to pursue careers in medicine.

Students gain access to three of the most sought-after early medical experiences:

1. SURGICAL OBSERVATION

Students observe real surgical procedures while surgeons explain the techniques and decision-making involved.

2. GROSS ANATOMY EXPERIENCE

Students work in anatomy labs alongside experienced instructors to study the structure of the human body.

3. SHADOWING PHYSICIANS

Students spend time in hospital departments and clinics observing physicians across multiple specialties.

During the program, students spend more than 60 hours inside medical environments that most students cannot access in the United States before medical school.

This exposure allows students to better understand the path ahead and confirm whether medicine is the right career for them.
