FUTUREVETS CAREER EXPLORATION WEBINAR

WHAT IT’S REALLY LIKE TO BE A VETERINARIAN

A BEHIND-THE-SCENES SUMMER EXPERIENCE ABROAD

Many students say they want to become veterinarians.

But very few get the opportunity to see what veterinary medicine actually looks like in real clinics and field environments until years into college.

This short presentation provides a behind-the-scenes look at the environments, experiences, and learning opportunities students encounter through the FutureVets program.

Watch the presentation below to see how students observe veterinarians, participate in anatomy labs, and learn about animal care in real-world settings abroad.

INSIDE THIS WEBINAR, YOU'LL DISCOVER…

  • What it’s really like inside veterinarian clinics and field environments
  • How students participate in veterinary anatomy labs and learn about animal physiology
  • The variety of animals students encounter—from domestic pets to large working animals and wildlife
  • Why early exposure to veterinary medicine can help students prepare for pre-vet pathways
  • What a typical day looks like for students participating in the FutureVets program

For many students, this is the first opportunity to truly understand what a career in veterinary medicine looks like beyond textbooks and classroom learning.

ABOUT FUTUREVETS

FutureVets is an international summer honors program for high school and undergraduate students who aspire to pursue careers in veterinary medicine.

Students gain access to three of the most sought-after early veterinary experiences:

1. FIELD AND ANIMAL CARE EXPERIENCES

Students encounter a variety of animals—including domestic pets, large animals, and exotic species—while learning how veterinarians care for them in different environments.

2. VETERINARY ANATOMY LABS

Students learn about animal anatomy through guided lab sessions led by veterinary professionals.

3. VETERINARY CLINIC SHADOWING

Students observe veterinarians as they diagnose and treat animals in real clinical settings.
